Glebe Collegiate Institute (Glebe CI), located in the beautiful Glebe neighbourhood, has developed a rich tradition over its history. In accordance with its motto, “In alta tende”, its students “strive for the heights” and have acquired national and international recognition. Glebe CI has approximately 1,700 students and is the OCDSB's largest school.
The first students came to Glebe in the fall of 1922. The school was officially opened in May of 1923. We held a celebration of 100 years of Glebe in October, 2022.
Our school welcomes approximately 1700 students each year from Grade 9 to 12.
We offer English, French Immersion, English as a Second Language, a Gifted Program, and a Special Education Learning Centre.
Glebe was selected as one of Canada's best schools in the August 23, 2004, edition of Maclean's news magazine.
It has a percussion group called Offbeat, which uses things like trash cans, brooms, chalk dusters, and water barrels as instruments. The Improv Teams, have twice placed within the Canadian Improv Games national finals.
Glebe's robotics program participates in US FIRST international robotics competition, and won the SKILLS Canada STEM and Controls competition in 2015.
