The Glebe Collegiate School Council has been formally established by the Province of Ontario.
We invite you to get involved in your school community!
We're a group of volunteers who care about the daily life of the school community. We are mostly parents and caregivers, but teachers, the principal and vice-principals and students are also part of school council.
We have monthly meetings where we hear updates from the principal, vice-principals, teachers, the student council and other student groups. We talk about issues that concern students and families.
Recent discussions have included:
- student mental health
- student course selection and assessment
- equity issues
- Ottawa Carleton Public School Board (OCDSB) policies.
The council undertakes a variety of activities, such as:
- Hosting information nights for parents and students, such as an evening to hear how to support adolescent health and wellbeing
- Fundraising to support student awards, student-led initiatives and special events
- Organizing activities such as lunches to say thank you to teachers and staff
