Course Selection

Course Selection for 2023-2024
This is a very important process since our master timetable is based on student course selections. Take the time to use the resources available to make informed choices. It can be difficult, and sometimes impossible, to make changes to courses once the master timetable has been set as many courses will be full.

You will receive information through the email used at registration from a Glebe Student Services staff.

worksheets by grade level

All the courses offered at Glebe CI are listed on the Grade Level Worksheets. Many course codes include links to course flyers and/or descriptions.

For Current Glebe Students - Course Change Request Window for 2023 - 2024

Our master timetable is built based on student choices made during the original February - March selection period. Students have been timetabled based on these selections, and many courses are already full at this time. The ability to make a change will depend on space available, and fit within the master timetable.

We must prioritize changes based on student needs to earn graduation requirements. After priority changes (click here for info) have been processed, we can then consider other change requests. Please note that we maintain waiting lists. Requests, when possible, are processed up until the end of the 5th day of class in a semester.

If you require a change to your selections for next year, please complete the form at the link below with a parent/guardian.

Request to Change Course Selections for 2023-2024

Xello can be used to view requests previously submitted, but change requests cannot be made through Xello since the information does not upload into our scheduling system at this time of year.

This form will be available until Friday, May 5, 2023.

Attention Current Grade 12 Students

A reminder that the Semester 2 Full Disclosure date is Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

This means that if a student withdraws from a Grade 11 or 12 course by this date that the course will not show up on the student's Ontario Student Transcript.

If the course is dropped after that date, the withdrawal is recorded on the Ontario Student Transcript by entering a “W” in the “Credit” column, and the student’s percentage grade is also recorded.

If you have questions about this process or next steps, please come to Student Services before Wednesday, May 3rd to connect with a Guidance Counsellor.

*Note that in order to drop a course you need to be able to earn all graduation and post secondary admission requirements by the end of June.

Mandatory eLearning Graduation Requirement and Opt-out Information

If your child would like to opt-out of this requirement, you can do so at OCDSB 992 - Online Learning Graduation Requirement - Opt-Out form. Please note, current grade 11 students will receive one eLearning credit due to their experiences with pandemic learning, and current grade 12 students are exempted from the requirement and do not need to complete the opt-out form.
