Student Timetables and Scheduling Process for 2022-2023

Our guidance and office staff teams are working hard to ensure all students have timetables that meet their programming needs, and that will prepare them for their future pathways. We are working with a new timetabling system and a number of timetable constraints. We ask for your patience and understanding as it will take some time for us to make necessary adjustments to student timetables.

Course Change Requests for 2022-2023 - Semester 2

Students will receive a copy of their Semester 2 timetable in time for class startup. Note that a number of adjustments are being made to our master timetable, and what may have been reflected for Semester 2 on the copy students received in September has likely changed.

We continue to accept course change requests for necessary changes for Semester 2 until January 25, 2023.

Our master timetable is built based on student choices made during the original February - March selection period. This being the case, many courses were filled when the timetable was generated and students who wish to make changes to their original selections will only be able to do so if space permits.

We continue to prioritize changes that meet priority criteria.

Priority criteria considered for a course change request, include when a student has:

- already earned the credit (eg. in summer school etc.)
- not yet earned the prerequisite
- made a pathway data entry error in Xello (SBI3C when they should have chosen SBI3U)
- missing compulsory courses or program requirements
- blanks in their timetable (except grade 12s with spares)
- changes in post secondary plans (ex. requires math for their preferred program)

Please note! When students submit a request, they need to be comfortable with other changes being made to their timetable to accommodate the course that is needed.

Before completing the Course Change Request Form, please carefully review the following important information:

- if a student submitted a course change request before September 6th, and still need that change, we encourage the student to resubmit their request to confirm that they still require that change
- changes that are possible are communicated with students via their school email
- Student Services staff will continue to adjust timetables for semester 2 up until February 7, 2023. We maintain waiting lists where possible.
- if you do not receive any communication, it is because the change was not possible.
